Real distressing follows wear patterns, cuffs, shoulders, wherever a bag strap sits, and it's uneven. Factory-faked distressing tends to look symmetrical and identical across the same spot on every unit, since it's applied by machine.

What's the difference between vegetable-tan and chrome-tan leather?

Vegetable-tan ages more visibly and develops richer color over time. Chrome-tan is more common, more colorfast, and changes very little with age. Vegetable-tan is what actually produces genuine patina.

Will this jacket look worn out right away, or does the patina build over time?
